World Power - A text-based country building game
If you remember playing online games in the days before the web, then you've probably played text-based country building games. In World Power, the object to develop your country into a world super power by building your economy, educating your population, and assembling a military. The game ends with a race for the stars. The first player to develop interplanetary travel wins.
You get to play 75 turns per day. On each turn, you can perform certain actions such as building new structures to improve your country. Each structure provides specific benefits, such as producing food for your population, growing your economy, or mining resources. Building schools will increase your technology level, and with better technology, new building options become available.
The world market allows you to buy and sell resources. If you produce surplus commodities, you can sell them to the market for extra income. If you need to fill production deficit, the world market is a convenient way to keep your factories running until you can increase production capacity.
